Probus Canada has worked with Johnson Inc., a national benefits provider, to offer a benefit plan custom-designed to members. The plan includes the following voluntary benefit options that can be purchased on a stand-alone basis to meet our insurance needs.
- Extended Health Care with “Prestige” Emergency Travel Insurance (includes trip cancellation)
- Dental Care
- Stand-alone Trip Cancellation/Interruption
- MEDOC Travel Insurance (includes Trip Cancellation)
- Guaranteed or Term Life Insurance
- Long Term Care Insurance
For members under the age of 75, in good standing with Probus, there is a ONE-TIME OPEN ENROLMENT PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 15, 2013 TO NOVEMBER 15, 2013 for Extended Health Care (EHC) with Prestige Emergency Medical Travel and Trip Cancellation Insurance. During the open enrolment period, Probus members under the age of 75 can apply for Extended Health Care coverage without providing medical evidence of insurability. Also, Dental Care applications received during the open enrolment period will not be subject to proration of annual limits.
Following the open enrollment period, new Probus members may apply for this coverage within 60 days of losing existing employer group coverage without submitting medical evidence for eligibility. After 60 days, EHC with Prestige Travel applications require medical evidence of insurability and may be declined coverage.
