More than fifty happy members and guests attended our annual Summer Picnic, which for the third year was held in Diane and Hans deVisser’s lovely back garden. After some anxious sky-watching, we were rewarded with a sunny, warm afternoon so we could all relax, sip our wine, socialize, and challenge ourselves with outdoor games. Diets were quickly forgotten when Spice of Life Catering served up a veritable feast. Who could resist the array of salads, fresh seafood pasta, and tasty herbed chicken followed by yummy desserts.
Thanks to Remax-Nanaimo (Stephanie Cushing) and Royal Lepage (Karen Kenyon) for the tents they generously supplied for our event. Special thanks go out to the picnic committee: Bernie Podlubny, Margaret White, Bea and Paul Kolodziej (designer of the challenging “Stick-it” game), Norm Kilarski, Kim Rasmussen and, of course to Robert Grose who masterminded the whole affair. Thanks also to those who helped with the set-up and take down of tables, chairs, tents, and decorations; so many hands making it all light work.
