Outside, if you’d have thought there was a good- sized party going on, you wouldn’t be wrong; but once inside the noise level was approaching a sports stadium pitch as more than 50 Club members shared greetings, stories and holiday memories.
December’s meeting was a rousing kick-off to the Christmas Season and it was the culmination of another incredible year for the Northwest Bay PROBUS club. It was also our Annual General Meeting and we heard: the club is financially healthy, more than 20 new people have joined our ranks, we appreciated our fabulous speakers and when it comes to interest groups and having fun adventures – we excelled! And, we welcomed our new management team and said ‘Thank you’ to those who are stepping down.
This meeting reflected the spirit of the club and included an extensive photo montage that highlighted the year, a challenging music quiz and had members teaming up to work on an amusing Holiday Season crossword. We also had a preview of what is coming for the New Year plus the fact that more 70% of our membership have already renewed.
But it was the magic of the food tables that once again delighted attendees. Mrs. Claus (Linda Burrows) went above providing everything that was guaranteed to add pounds, entertain the taste buds but leave you wanting to have more, more, more.
Attendees went home appreciating the camaraderie of PROBUS, anticipating the festivities of Christmas and New Year’s and looking forward to another incredible year of fun, friendship and frivolity.
