North West Bay Probus

COVID-19 Update: Activities and Meetings

Update on Northwest Bay Probus General Meetings:

It is apparent from the Provincial health rules that meeting in groups larger than 50 people will likely not be permitted for many months. In light of this, our NWB Probus Management Committee has decided to try meeting via zoom, starting on 2 October 2020. The focus of zoom meetings will be on our guest speakers.

Re-Start of Selected Outdoor Activities:

The relaxation of some Provincial rules with respect to Covid-19 means we have had the opportunity to start up some limited Probus activities Please refer to the updates on Special Interest Groups (SIGs) for news of these activities. These activities require compliance with Provincial and local health rules as outlined below, in addition to any rules posted by venues that we visit.

 COVID-19 Compliance Guidelines:

The Province of BC has published a document entitled “BC’s Restart Plan”. The latest version is dated July 21, 2020. The link to the site is here. If you are engaging in any Probus activities, please refer to the site for any updates with respect to appropriate behavior to protect your health and the health of those around you.

Please participate in Probus activities only when you are entirely comfortable with the planned activity. When you are participating, do not hesitate to suggest to the activity leader any improvements you feel could be made to make the experience safer for everyone. As Dr. Bonnie Henry says, “we are in this together”. We are undertaking these activities to have fun while at the same time being safe.
