April showers bring May flowers…
After three months in the California desert without any rain, we look forward to returning home to Nanoose on April 1st to see the results of the recent rains here.
I have learned to love the desert through the experience of hiking. This was a new activity for me in a new environment. By joining hiking groups, I learned new skills, gained a greater knowledge of wildflowers, geology, history and met many hikers to enjoy my interest with. I enclose a picture from a recent hike that captures the beauty of the desert.
I sincerely believe that you get out of PROBUS what you put in and to the degree in which you participate. If you are not yet in a Special Interest Group, look over the list and see what interests you or sign-up for an Out & About activity. Also, please consider introducing a friend to PROBUS
I would like to again express my sincere gratitude to Heather Popple, Don Dempson and Doug Pearson for chairing meetings for me in my absence. I look forward to returning from my snowbird experience in Palm Springs and greeting everyone at the April meeting.
