As we head into the Holiday Season the words Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men’ take on new meaning. With all the events happening around the world we can thank our lucky stars we have chosen Vancouver Island to which to retire.

This year I wish to extend a special Thank You to you. December marks the end of my 2-year term as your President and I would like to thank our management team for their continued support and the wonderful execution of our plans. To all members, your enthusiastic support of our many Out&About and social activities, feedback on our excellent speakers and willingness to just have fun is more than appreciated. We have had a good number of new members in the two-year period and it is up to all of us to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted by our club. PROBUS Canada took on the slogan “Get connected – Stay connected” and that is a good summary of how to approach PROBUS to get the most out of it.

Once again we approach the Christmas season, when the world seems to pause and reflect on the year about to close and the new one soon to begin. It’s time to slow down and pay attention to family, children, friends and relatives. It’s a special time that we all enjoy, a time of reflection.

And that’s exactly what we will do at our December General meeting on December 4. Come out and enjoy Christmas treats, mulled wine, music, jokes and a slide show of our Probus Year at a glance. This will also be your last chance to get tickets for the Christmas Party on Dec 9th.
