September is a busy month for everyone. It seems after a wonderful summer and the passing of Labour Day that there is a rebirth of Fall activities. PROBUS started off with the Pancake breakfast and a new team of men doing the cooking but with a few twists on the traditional menu. Result: excellent reviews on food and service. My point is when members were asked to volunteer, they stepped up and got the job done.
We have a Car Rally coming up in October and new members Phil Howell and Norm Kilarski have volunteered to organize it. This is a major undertaking for a very popular event. It is bound to be a fun time so let’s support their hard work by signing up at the October meeting to participate. It’s less than 3 months until our annual Christmas Party at Fairwinds on December 12. If the Social Committee calls you for help, I do hope you will join in the preparations.
Our special interest groups are starting again and Out & About activities abound. For a fun night out on October 23 make sure you sign-up for the Bailey Theatre night and enjoy an evening of laughs. The Hiking group has been active and there are still lots of interesting hikes to get in this fall. The Whisky Club has openings for two more to join in the fun.
So hold onto your hats, PROBUS will be having an exciting Fall finish to 2014!
