OUT & ABOUT are one-time events,  each organized by a member, usually the one that suggests the outing.

Ideas range from kayaking to ballet performances to mystery teas. Each event will be open to all members and members are encouraged to make suggestions. The organizational work involved should be minimal

The first event was on Wed. 26 March – a visit to Coastal Carvings, the Coombs gallery of Jeremy Humpherville with lunch beforehand at Cuckoo.

Occasionally, the Out & About excursions go further afield such as when 42 members attended a dinner &  lecture at Deep Bay Marine Field Station.Click here to read what you missed.

Other well attended excursions such as the small groups touring Robert Held Art Glass studio in Parksville, developed into excursions that gave members an opportunity to learn about the intricacy of designing and making a piece of art glass in workshops at the studio.
