As I watched our family enjoy the presents that were unwrapped with frantic joy, sitting around the Christmas tree this past week, I reflected on the good fortune we have to live in this wonderful place called Canada! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you are able to start the New Year with enthusiasm and great expectations.
For 2024, we have signed a formal rental agreement with the folks at St. Mary’s for the use of their hall and kitchen. This was a new requirement this year, and it took a fair bit of work by your Management Committee over the past few weeks to achieve a fair and reasonable agreement that provides us with security for the coming year. This agreement is fully aligned with the resolutions approved by our members at our recent AGM. Congratulations to all for your support.
It’s great to see several members step up to fill roles for 2024, and we also want to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to Sue Kelley, for her work as our past President, to Joanie Miller for her years of endless effort leading the Social Committee and to Al MacDonald for his work as Treasurer. They have each earned a well-deserved break from their continuous efforts to contribute to the success of our club. We are still looking for a Vice-President and one more person to complete our new Social Committee. Are you ready to step up?
May 2024 prove to be a very successful year – the 21st year of operation of our club!
