Wine Clubs Ham it Up

The Grand Crew and Cellar Dwellers wine clubs joined forces on March 26th to hold a dinner with the appropriate pairing of sparkling, white and red wines.  Helena Pedersen, Manager of the BC Government Liquor Store in Parksville, selected and provided information on all of the wines served.

Host couples, Bob and Heather Popple and Barbara and Robert Hartley provided delicious fare of baked ham and scalloped potatoes, while other attendees brought appetizers and a hearty appetite.  Seating in the Popple home was determined by the playing card that you drew at the door; mixing up couples and club groupings.

The wines served were:

  • Rose Venuto Frizzante
  • Chapoutier Bila-Haut
  • Lingenfelder 2011 Riesling
  • Pasion de Bobal
  • Lambusco de Sorbara
