Well Roger Griffiths gave us what we asked for – a light-hearted visual encompassing both video and still images of 5 men in their 70’s who each year fly into remote locations for a 5 day hiking/camping trip. These are no ordinary hikes and the preparation, planning and logistics are impressive. The physicality of the hikes with rushing rivers to cross, mountains to climb and insects to contend with is not for the faint of heart.
Throughout it all, Roger’s sense of humour and humility of the accomplishments with his friends was very touching. Know one will forget how a car or plane can fly over a map to bring the trip to life. We all enjoyed the wonderful photography and scenery and look forward to Roger returning next spring for another travel talk.
