“I don’t feel old, I feel like I’m back at 60,” she said when CHEK News caught up with her at a roadside pullout near Port McNeill on August 10.  If you missed the publicity, you can watch the CHEK News clip here.

Sonya skated in a different costume every day, dressing up as a casino girl in fishnet stockings, a hippy with peace signs and a flower-blossom headband, Princess Fiona from Shrek, among others.   Not stopping there, she also turned her journey into a fundraiser for the SPCA, reflecting her love of animals and her appreciation of her loving companion cat, Holly, adopted from the BC SPCA in Victoria in 2011.

You can read more about Sonya’s impressive accomplishment here on Capital Daily.

Congratulations Sonya – a birthday celebration with great fun, flair and impact!  We look forward to your next milestone birthday!
