President’s Message – January 2022

Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a safe and healthy holiday. Just when we started to get excited about the holidays and sharing good times with our family and friends, we now are dealing with Omicron.  The gift that keeps on giving. We are fortunate that we were able to have the wonderful Christmas Luncheon, so well planned by Joanie Miller and her hard-working elves!

I want to take this time to thank Al Macdonald for his strong stewardship of the Northwest Bay Probus over the past two years.  He has worked tirelessly to encourage people to get together safely and to make the most of our Zoom meetings and this newsletter.  Thank you, Al. I will try to follow your excellent example.

We are at the beginning of a new year and that means renewing our Probus memberships.  All the information you need is provided in this newsletter.  Even if you are not attending the monthly meetings, you are expected to be a current Probus member to attend any of the Special Interest Groups (book clubs, wine clubs) or Special Events, when we can host them again.

I look forward to working with the 2022 management team! While I am a newbie, I have lots of expertise to draw upon.  As none of them is shy, I am confident that they will keep me focused on the things we all agree are important.

For now, we will continue with monthly Zoom meetings. We have a number of interesting guest speakers lined up.

And if you have any questions, concerns or ideas about what would make Probus more fun, please contact me ([email protected]) or any other members of the management team.

Sue Kelly, President
