President’s Message – February 2022

How can it be February already?  It seems to me we have barely gotten through the holiday season and we are already heading for chocolate February! Then we have a break until chocolate April!

Thank you all who have already renewed your memberships to the Northwest Bay Probus Club!  I am absolutely delighted with the response so far. (As of January 26, we have received over 70 renewals!)  Even better, we are still receiving applications from new members, which is incredible given how we have had to scale back our activities these past two years. Please sign up as soon as you are able.

Omicron continues to put a damper on our activities.  Some Special Interest Groups have decided to wait until they can meet outdoors. Others have returned to Zoom. After all this rain, surely, we can hope for a sunnier spring. But keep your wellies handy just in case!

Even though we aren’t getting together as often for social events, your management team continues to meet each month. We keep the organization going, but we also discuss not only how we might get together safely but also to discuss recreation or social opportunities that might interest members. If you have some ideas that you would like us to consider, please let us know.

There are a few Special Interest Groups that are not currently active.  Hopefully, we will be able to re-start them in the spring. Warning!  We will be looking for volunteers to help organize them. It only happens with your help.

I look forward to seeing you at our next General Meeting, February 4th.

Sue Kelly, President
