President’s Message – October 2023

As I write this (on my computer which is having issues) I find it hard to believe that we are already into October. It seems that this year has flown by. We are still eeking out a few nice days before the rains come…although I must admit that I am looking forward to them. When we were on Haida Gwaii it only truly rained the last day. It felt wonderful. Everything was so green there – it has been a while since we have enjoyed those luscious greens here.

People who have signed up for Dining Out Group will be hearing from us very soon (if my ^%$# computer ever decides to let me send emails). We will have three groups – one that meets on the first Wednesday of the month, one on the first Thursday of the month, and one on the second Thursday of the month. For the time being, we will not exceed the current 27 members.

Sandy Doyle who is Director-at-Large with our Probus Management Committee has kindly agreed to do a write-up in the e-news introducing the new members of our club. It will give us a chance to know you a bit better.  Sandy will contact you. I hope you take this opportunity to tell us more about yourself and perhaps to learn what kinds of Special Interest Groups you would either like to join or better yet, create.  We always love volunteers.

You will be happy to know that we have started planning the Christmas party. I know that Joanie will be providing you with tantalizing details in the coming weeks.

Sue Kelly, President
