As I was starting to write this article for the Probus Newsletter, Dr. Bonnie Henry re-imposed stricter rules as a “circuit breaker” to reduce the rapid growth of Covid-19 cases which has occurred over the past few weeks. While these tougher restrictions are unfortunate, the need for them was not unexpected based on what we were hearing on the news front. Again, we all have to do our part.
At the same time, vaccinations have begun and many of our Probus members have had their first shot. This first shot by itself provides significant resistance to the virus for us.
We have also heard from some friends that when they phoned for their appointments, they were offered to get their shot the next day in Port Alberni rather that the Recreation Centre in Parksville 2 weeks later. So, they jumped at the chance, they got their shots the next day and enjoyed a nice lunch in Port Alberni.
So be ready for a pleasant surprise!
