For Peat’s Sake

Sharon Seibt hosted the final For Peat’s Sake meeting of 2013 and all agreed that the two whiskies tasted were the best of the year.  Information provided by Sharon and her husband, Diet, helped us understand the history of the two whiskies: Aberfeldy 12 and Bunnahabhain – Cruach-MHona.

The Aberfeldy 12 is a wonderful, light and fruity whisky and it’s only $49.99 in BC (cheaper than Alberta).  Sharon and Diet purchased the Bunnahabhain – Cruach-MHona at Heathrow airport.  With an alcohol content of 50% that didn’t burn, a bold amber colour and a pleasant smokey taste (even smoother with water) we all agreed this was a winner.  Pity it is only available at duty free stores in Europe.
